This is MY Pity Party so leave your own shit at the door. Let's see, I spent Christmas and New Years passing three kidney stones and having a stint shoved in me to drain my kidney. I think Santa mixed my stocking up with my kidney when he left me the coal I must have had coming. Next year I will be waiting up for the fat bastard with some rope and a branding iron. No sooner do I get better than the wife gets a virus that turns into pnuemonia in a matter of days. I'm overdue for another ...
I got my free WIndows 7 upgrade. Now I'm afraid to install it. Anyone wanna walk me through this?
Today on Wincustomize, a fellow skinner brought to the attention of other skinners something interesting and of importance to a lot of graphic artists, wallpaper designers, and skinners in general. It was that Softpedia posts any one’s work that they want to before getting permission from the author and even if they can not contact the author to get permission. The skinner had received an email informing him that his work had ‘already’ been posted. He shared it in the WC ...
Microsoft had intended to sponsor a special episode of 'Family Guy' to promote Windows7. However, apparently after a screening of the episode, Microsoft decided to back out. It seems that after 10 years and 120 episodes, Microsoft had no idea that 'Family Guy' was full of 'controversial material'. The episode will still air and is looking for another sponsor. (Hey Brad, ya reading this?) All that's left of the now defunct partnership is the video below from the WIndows 741 Student site. &n...
Who's got all the Google Wave invitiations and why haven't you sent me one? I'll make you the icon of your choice.
I'm having an issue with CCleaner. I have always used it and never had a single problem until now. When I run the Registry cleaner, it is showing damn near everything in the registry as a problem. I unistalled and reinstalled a fresh copy. I've run Spybot, Avast, and hijackthis to see if there was something else going on, but can find nothing. It still shows a crapload of registry problems. Soem of them look like important items I would not want to delete. It's NEVER shown this many items ...
(From Sam Terrapin's Blog at Skinartistry) The next time you post a picture to the world wide web, you may want to ask yourself if that's all your posting. There's all that METaDATA that is attached to it as well. For Windows only comes JPEG & PNG Stripper an extremely small portable application that strips the metadata out of JPEG and PNG image files. From Lifehacker "Why would you want to strip down an imag...
Fron Lifehacker : The popular Windows firewall application ZoneAlarm Free has a big brother called ZoneAlarm Pro, which boasts a handful of features not available in the free version—including integrated antivirus. Normally $40, ZoneAlarm Pro will be available Tuesday (11/18) for the low, low price of free. ZoneAlarm Free was voted one of the five best Windows firewalls by Lifehacker readers, so if you like what you've seen from that, a free upgrade to the Pro version sounds...
I'm having a couple of issues with Zubaz the new forum. Unable to post pics: Now this is a HUGE issue for me. I wouldn't doubt if Zubaz was behind this. Blocking my ability to post my Zubaz and skinhit pics is just wrong. It's abuse of power. I won't stand for it! I know people!!! And when they are released from observation there's gonna be trouble. I have to log on separately for the forums, even if I am logged onto the rest of the site. I am sure this is more Zubaz tom-foolery in...
I'm not good with people..face to face. I always say the wrong thing at the wrong time. I'm not a very good listener. I'm a better 'story-teller', but I can get annoying and overwhelming. I guess I have seen and done too much over the years and have too much to say. At my job, all of this can be problematic. A majority of my job is customer service. Combine that with the fact that a lot of the contact I have with my customers revolves around complaints or 'issues' and what I become is a walking ...
Now it's my wife's laptop. She has a Toshiba Satellite A105 laptop. No virus' that I know of and has been running fine. When you start it, the light on the start button comes on. You can hear the cooling fan..but I don't hear the HD doing anything at all and nothing at all is appearing on the screen. I'm thinking the HD is shot. The laptop is about 2 years old. Any thoughts on what the problem might be?
I got the July update for my WindopwsXP. I didn't notice anything right away because I hadn't restarted my computer. When I got to work, my Wife's PC would not connect to the internet after she got her update. I looked at it and I lowered the firewall on ZA to medium. Bam..connected. When I got home tonight I had the same problem on my PC. The only way to connect on FF, IE or in my email was to lower ZA's firewall to medium. Anyone else having this problem? Or ca...
Five years ago, this spring, I relocated from Pennsylvania to South Carolina. I was not informed that I would need a passport to make this move and have been paying for it ever since. There are very few conversations that I will get into with someone that don't take that turn. The one where they go completely off subject and flash me that slow grin. "You're not from around here, are you?" My former pastors wife was a yankee. She tried to teach me how to fake the accent. She, and m...
I recently upgraded my memory. I have a very modest computer and finally grew tired of seeing the little pop-up telling me my virtual memory was low while I was in the middle of a Photoshop project. I went from 512MB to 2GB. I'm still getting the low virtual memory message. I know it can be adjusted and I also know if you don't do it right, it can just make the performance worse. This is what I am working with. Any help would be appreciated. I know there is probably a standard ...
